# Folio

> Convert scanned PDF books to EPUB and searchable text PDF with local browser OCR. Review and edit Polish and English text without uploading your documents. Folio is publicly accessible.

## Workflow

1. The user selects a local PDF in the browser. Only act on files the user has authorized.
2. Start local OCR and poll progress. Orientation, spreads and contents pages are handled automatically.
3. Review OCR. Very low-confidence/empty pages are excluded by default; inclusion can be changed.
4. The human completes export checkout. One document purchase includes both formats: PLN 5.00, USD 1.99, EUR 1.99. Payments may be disabled until the operator is connected.
5. Export only after the server verifies payment. A redirect URL or client flag does not prove payment.

## Browser tools

When supported, document.modelContext registers: read_conversion_status, start_conversion, stop_conversion, set_book_metadata, select_page, set_page_inclusion, read_export_pricing, show_export_purchase, download_result.

Without WebMCP, use semantic labels and controls. Documents and recognized text remain in the browser. There is no remote file-upload/OCR API and no remote MCP conversion endpoint. Checkout sends a random job identifier and currency, not a PDF, title or recognized text.
