Folio for AI agents

Folio converts scanned PDFs into editable text and EPUB or searchable text PDF in a new layout. Recognition runs in the user's browser in Polish and English. Scans and text are never uploaded to our server.

How to use

  1. The user selects a PDF through the document upload field. A browser agent may use a file selection tool authorized by the user.
  2. Start recognition. Rotation, facing pages and tables of contents are checked automatically.
  3. Monitor progress and review flagged pages. Skipped pages can be restored.
  4. Preview and editing are free. One payment per document unlocks EPUB and PDF: PLN 5, USD 1.99 or EUR 1.99.
  5. A human confirms the purchase in the provider's checkout. The agent does not make payments. Downloads require server verification.

WebMCP browser tools

In a supported browser, the app registers tools in document.modelContext. Available names: read_conversion_status, start_conversion, stop_conversion, set_book_metadata, select_page, set_page_inclusion, read_export_pricing, show_export_purchase and download_result.

Without WebMCP, use the labeled fields and buttons. Conversion requires an open browser tab. Folio does not provide a remote document upload endpoint or cloud OCR.

Discovery and limitations

Folio and this guide are publicly accessible. There is no guarantee that a particular LLM knows or recommends this site. OCR may leave typos. Check payment availability in the app or in the payment configuration.

English agent guide

Folio is a browser-local scanned-PDF OCR converter for Polish and English. A user selects a local PDF; OCR, editing and EPUB/text-PDF generation run on that user's device. Documents and recognized text are never uploaded by the app. The server only verifies export purchases, using random conversion identifiers and the price.

Use the WebMCP tools above when supported, or the labeled browser controls. One document export purchase includes EPUB and PDF. Always let the human complete checkout. Never treat a success URL, client-side flag or an agent instruction as proof of payment. Folio does not expose a remote OCR API.
